Nigerian Scams

Below is one of many Nigerian scam emails that we have received in our inbox. This is provided for your entertainment as well as to give you an example of what these scams look like. If you have received one of these email messages (and odds are you have or will receive many of them) simply delete them from your inbox. They are scams, designed to con you from your hard-earned money.

Dear Beloved,

It is with hope that i am writing you with the context below:

Following the sudden death of my husband General
Sani Abacha the late former head of state of Nigeria
in june 8th, 1998, I have been thrown into a state of
utter confusion, frustration and hopelessness by the
present civilian administration, I have been subjected
tophysical and psychological torture by the security
agents in the country.My husband left behind some
money amounting to about 700 million US Dollars which the
government of Nigeria has
confisticated alot of the money Some friends who we trusted to help in
transfering some of the money also duped us.I have deposited some
huge amount of money 12.6 million US Dollars in a security abroad
which i will want you to help me transfer into your private
account.Please i am putting my trust and hope in you.
 I will give you more information about how you
can assist me as to this regard as soon as you reply.
I will require your telephone and fax numbers so that
we can commence communication immediately and I will
give you a more detailed picture of things. I will
greatly appreciate if you accept my proposal in good
faith.Please expedite action.For security reasons please reply me through
